Helifix Products and Solutions
Retrofit Products
Over the last 30 years, Helifix has developed a comprehensive range of versatile, purpose-designed, retrofit products that individually or in combination, are able to cost-effectively solve virtually all commonly occurring problems of structural failure in bricks, blocks, stone, concrete, wood and local materials.
DryFix
DryFix is a slim, versatile and rapidly installed mechanical pinning and remedial tying system that requires no resin, grout or mechanical expansion. The patented DryFix system has been developed over many years and is an extremely versatile and reliable remedial pinning and tying system. It is very quick and easy to install and several versions of the system have evolved for specific applications.
DryFix provides an effective and economical stress-free connection between all commonly used building materials in both cavity and solid masonry constructions without needing any grouts, resins or mechanical expansion. It is simply power-driven into position, via a small pilot hole, using a special installation tool that leaves the end of the helical tie recessed below the outer face to allow an ‘invisible’ finish.
SockFix
SockFix is a mechanically grouted sock anchor system for stabilizing damaged masonry. The system comprises of a grout-filled sock that combines with a threaded bar in a composite action which expands to form a strong chemical/mechanical bond with the substrate.
The SockFix system is used in heavy duty, high load applications such as stabilizing rubble-filled walls, securing external walls to hollow concrete floor slabs, stitching cracked solid and multi-wythe walls and securing unstable parapet walls and arches.
Installation

SockFix is installed through pre-drilled hole in structure.
Grout is pumped slowly, expanding the sock to fill the hole. Fluid permeates through the sock to provide a bond with the substrate while a solid aggregate bar/grout composite is formed in the sock.
Crack Stitching
Helifix Crack Stitching repairs and stabilizes cracked masonry using helical stainless steel HeliBars bonded into cut slots with HeliBond grout for a quick, simple, effective and permanent solution.
Cracked masonry is best stabilized by bonding HeliBar (helical stainless steel bars) into appropriate bed joints or cut slots, in bricks, blocks or stonework with HeliBond cementitious grout. Tensile loads are redistributed along the masonry to minimize further developments of the crack which may occur with simple injection methods.
PatchPin
PatchPin is a short stainless steel helical pin that provides a strong mechanical key when patch repairing reinforced concrete.
HeliBar
HeliBar is a helical stainless steel reinforcing bar, with substantial tensile properties, used for strengthening and stabilizing masonry in both new build and remedial situations.
HeliBars, of differing lengths depending upon the application, are the principal components of the Helibeam System.
Bonded into cut slots at pre-determined levels in the masonry using HeliBond thixotropic cementitious grout, it is the composite action between the HeliBars and HeliBond that provides the core element of the Helibeam System, making it such a versatile, reliable and successful masonry repair system.
The Helibeam System
The Helibeam system of structural reinforcement and stabilization is at the heart of our technical strategy.
The Helibeam System provides a rapid, cost-effective means of restoring structural integrity to buildings and structures where the masonry has failed and lost its load-bearing capabilities. Using a combination of different Helifix products and techniques, it provides a comprehensive, reliable and economic system of repair and stabilization that may be used to address a wide range of commonly occurring structural faults.
BowTie HD
BowTie is a long stainless steel retrofit helical tie used for stabilizing bowing / bulging walls, without any external plates, by securing and anchoring them to internal floor and ceiling joists.
Standard BowTies are recommended when installing into joist ends.
The BowTie range can be used as a wall-diaphragm anchorage in seismic upgrades.
CemTie
CemTie is a versatile, fully grouted, remedial helical tie used to stabilize all forms of solid masonry, secure failed lintels and brick rings, reconnecting separated internal and external building walls and repair parapets.
- CemTies of different lengths
- Manual applicator and two extension nozzles
- Long series drill bits
- Brush for cleaning hole
- Helibond cementitious grout
DryFix Terracotta Tie
The DryFix Terracotta Tie is a dry mechanical pinning and remedial tying system. It is used to secure fragile terracotta facings and delicate decorations and features which have become loose or are suffering from stress fractures.
DryFix StuccoPin
StuccoPin is a special short version of DryFix pin that are available for re-pinning separated, unstable and potentially dangerous loose stucco. Typically the stucco is 1″ to 2″ thick but this can vary greatly between 1/2″ and 3″. Breakdown of the bond between the stucco and back-up material can occur for various reasons but once delaminated it is likely to become increasingly unstable, resulting in cracks and bulges. These in turn encourage water penetration while wind loads tend to loosen the stucco even further. Mosaic tile finishes can easily become loose and fall away.
Installed in the same way as standard DryFix ties, re-pinning is a far simpler and more cost-effective method of stabilizing the stucco than traditional solutions such as tearing off and re-stuccoing or chemical anchoring with large pins.
DryFix Asymmetric Tie
The DryFix Asymmetric Tie is a dry mechanical pinning and remedial tying system. It is used for securing soft outer wythe materials to a hard inner wythe, such as concrete or hard brick.
